Why we do it this way
Buying online in Sri Lanka has a trust problem, and everybody who has done it knows the shape of it: the photo that flattered, the parcel that arrived with a corner crushed, the seller who stopped replying once the money had moved. The usual answer is to ask customers to pay first and hope.
We would rather remove the leap of faith. Cash on delivery is the only way to pay here, and it is deliberate. You see the parcel before you are committed. If the box is crushed, soaked or obviously the wrong thing, you hand it straight back and you have lost nothing - not a rupee, not a refund queue, not three weeks of emails.
The same thinking runs through the rest of it. Our returns policy is specific about what we take back and blunt about what we do not, because a vague policy only ever favours the side that wrote it. Our privacy policy is short for an honest reason: we hold your name, number and address so we can deliver to you, we never see a card number, and there is no advertising tracker anywhere on this site.
We are not the biggest shop on the island and we are not trying to be the cheapest on every line. We are trying to be the one where the price on the page is the price at the door, and where somebody answers when you write in.
